plain jane cooking - recipes for the novice:

chicken pie with broccoli and cheese

ingredients

butter
boneless chicken breasts
chicken soup
cream
frozen broccoli - pre-cooked
cheddar - grated
creamy mashed potatoes

  1. Warm butter in a large saucepan
  2. Cut the chicken into bite sized pieces and add to the butter, cook gently until it changes colour and turns white on the outside
  3. Add the soup, the cream, the cooked broccoli and 1 cup of cheese
  4. Simmer on stove for approximately 20 minutes, add the remaining half a can of soup if preferred
  5. Pour into a casserole or pie dish
  6. Cover with the mashed potato and sprinkle with the remaining cheese
  7. Bake at 170°C for one hour
  8. Continue cooking until cooked, approximately another 1 hour on the stove or another 1 in the oven

Use more cheese if you like it really cheesy.
