plain jane cooking - recipes for the novice:

chicken pie with sweetcorn

ingredients

butter
boneless chicken breasts
chicken soup
cream
frozen sweetcorn
creamy mashed potatoes
or
cheesy pastry

  1. Warm butter in a large saucepan
  2. Cut the chicken into bite sized pieces and add to the butter, cook gently until it changes colour and turns white on the outside
  3. Add the soup, the cream and the sweetcorn
  4. Simmer on stove for approximately 10 minutes, add the remaining half a can of soup if preferred
  5. Pour into a casserole or pie dish
  6. Cover with the mashed potato or the cheese pastry
  7. Bake at 170°C for one hour

chef notes:

Grated cheddar can be sprinkled over the top of the mash before
baking if preferred.
