plain jane cooking - recipes for the novice:

flour - soft cake
butter (softened)
cheese - cheddar
parsley - chopped

  1. Place all ingredients into a food processor and pulse until a pastry is formed
  2. Roll into a sausage shape
  3. Chill until hardened
  4. Cut thinly (3mm) and place onto a lightly greased baking tray or silicon mat
  5. Bake at 180°C for approximately 5 minutes

chef notes:

Serve as stand alone biscuits or

  • made bite sized and topped with your favourite foods for snacks, finger food for cocktail parties, etc
  • made larger and topped with poached eggs, smoked salmon and hollanadaise
  • used as an accompliments to the likes of a Caesar salad for brunch
