  1. Grill bacon until crisp, cut into small strips
  2. Finely dice the onion
  3. Set aside
  4. Sift the flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt together twice
  5. Add enough warm milk to form a slightly stick dough
  6. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface
  7. Knead for 5 minutes until a non sticky but very pliable dough is obtained
  8. Roll into a cylinder
  9. Scale into even egg size pieces
  10. Roll each piece to an oval shape approx ½ cm thick
  11. Place some of the filling onto each brush edges with water, fold in half and roll slightly to seal and flatten
  12. Deep fry at 170°C until golden brown and cooked through
  13. Remove and drain
