desserts - cold recipe:

chocolate with mayonnaise cake (all in method)

ingredients

cocoa 25 gm
water 200 ml
vanilla essence 1 tbs
soft flour 400 gm
baking soda 2 tsp
castor sugar 200 gm
mayonnaise (commercial) 150 ml

production

  1. Combine cocoa, hot water and essence, allow to cool and blend in the mayonnaise
  2. Sieve flour 3 times, with the baking soda add the castor sugar
  3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients
  4. Pour into a 20cm cake tin
  5. Bake at 180°C for 35 - 40 minutes
  6. Remove from oven and allow to cool in tin for 10 minutes, remove from cake tin and place on cooling rack

chef notes:

For variation : chopped nuts, coffee or Grand Marnier maybe added.
