desserts - cold recipe:

ice box cookies

ingredients

softened butter 200 gms
brown sugar 200 gms
plain flour 400 gms
egg 1 pc
baking powder 2 tsp
vanilla essence 1 tsp

production

  1. Cream butter and sugar
  2. Beat in egg and vanilla
  3. Beat in sifted flour and baking powder to form a firm dough
  4. Shape into rolls of 5 - 7 cm in diameter
  5. Wrap in cling film and place in fridge until good and firm
  6. Cut into thin slices, bake on greased tray at 200°C for 8 - 10 minutes

chef notes:

Rolls can be frozen for a month or refrigerated for one week.

Other additives could include chocolate chips, nuts, etc and can be added at stage 3.
