vegetarian recipe:

fig relish

ingredients

green apples 2 pc
chopped figs 1 kg
apple juice 1 ½ cups
butter 50 gm
onion (chopped) 1 pc
yellow mustard seeds 1 tbs
grd ginger 1 tsp
cider vinegar 1/3 cup
dry sherry 1/3 cup
brown sugar ¼ cup

production

  1. Peel and core the apples, cut into pieces
  2. Combine the apples with the figs
  3. Sweat onions, mustard seeds and ginger
  4. Add remaining ingredients, bring to boil and simmer until slightly thickened
  5. Remove from heat and place into preserving jars
